Monument and Malang City Hall

Malang city like other cities in Indonesia, in general, developing and expanding the presence of the Dutch colonial government. Due to Malang since the concept was originally used as a resort town by the Government of the Netherlands East Indies. With the cool weather with average temperatures 20-24 degrees Celsius, then the city of Malang is ideal as the City of Rest. Malang city was established on 1 April 1914, and now divided into 5 Areas District with an area of 11 005 ha.
With a height of about 440-667m above sea level. The Malang City Hall is located on Monument Road and right in front of towering monument the monument is surrounded by gardens, better known by the Square Bunder.

Before 1914 the area Malang is still a part of the Residency Pasuruan and Malang is the highest authority in the Resident Assistant whose office is located in the south of the square unfortunate (now KPPN - Office of the State Treasury). Once the status of Malang Municipality changed to April 1, 1994, then since it has the right to rule the region of Malang City itself, led bay mayor.
